Henri Penmarc'h

 

Henri Ier PENMARC'H ( c. 1429), Lord of Penmarc'h and Le Colombier. Son of Alain Penmarc'h and of N... of Juch. Married Plézan Toupin. Captain of Janville. Take refuge in Orléans where he participated in the fights for the liberation of the city. His son, Alain III, died before him. His grandson, Henri II ( 1465) married Alix of Coëtivy, the Admiral Prigent of Coëtivy's sister; he became Captain of Talmond in 1445.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coat of arms: Or, a fess Azure accompanied 6 martlets Azure for Henri Ier Penmarc'h; generally for this family: Or, 3 martlets Azure. In the 17th C, the Penmarc'h family takes new coat of arms: Gules, a horse's head Argent ("Penmarch" = horse's head). Crest: a griffin's head Or, wreath Or and Azure, mantling Azure doubled Argent.
